My dad introduced me to this song. I am almost 16 and I wish my dad was still alive. He died a couple of years back. I just am starting to listen to this song again.
When this came out I was on the edge of having a mental breakdown. I sat in the kitchen and wanted my life to be over. I was in high school. I had no money, no food to eat and every one I loved had turned against me. I sat there with a bottle of pills contemplating whether or not I should do it, then this started playing on the radio. I started crying and I felt happy after he said I felt some pain I’ve seen some things but I’m here now. I dropped out of school and joined the army and things are a little better now. I no longer worry about not having money for rent or food to eat. I am happy at the moment and I just want to let you know that you don’t have to kill yourselves to end your life. I’m about to graduate high school in June and this song really hits hard. I know that this is the last time I’ll see all my friends at once, the last time I can make mistakes without big consequences, and the last time I’m free of all the grown up stress. It’s such a big step, such a big change, and it really feels like I’m stepping into a whole new world I’m not ready to face.

I graduated a few weeks ago and after graduation there was a lock in at this place to give the seniors one last chance to make memories together and to keep people from going out and getting drunk. I went and there were not a lot of people there. I was worried that I wouldn’t have anyone that I knew well to hang out with and contemplated just going home. As I was sitting there in the parking lot I had this random radio station on and this song started playing. It was so perfect and fitting that I just sat there and listened to it. I took it as my sign to go and I ended up knowing everyone there and having a blast. I’ll never forget that moment or that night.

I graduated a few weeks ago and after graduation there was a lock in at this place to give the seniors one last chance to make memories together and to keep people from going out and getting drunk. I went and there were not a lot of people there. I was worried that I wouldn’t have anyone that I knew well to hang out with and contemplated just going home. As I was sitting there in the parking lot I had this random radio station on and this song started playing. It was so perfect and fitting that I just sat there and listened to it. I took it as my sign to go and I ended up knowing everyone there and having a blast. I’ll never forget that moment or that night.

This song came on almost simulateously as a call came in that my only daughter, at 7 years old, had been critically injured by a reckless driver in the back of my parent's SUV. I knew she would pass away when I got the call. I took her off of life support 7 days later. It's been 3 years. It feels like it was yesterday. Please heed my words. Your entire life can become the good old days in a moment. Please love and cherish what you have because your life can be over in a moment when you lose the one keeping you alive. There's before and after. If you haven't lost that one person keeping you going, enjoy every single second with them please.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. My beloved younger brother died by suicide on Monday, the 10th. He would've been 47 in July. I've been remembering the good old days alot. What you said about there is a before and an after. My best friend literally just told me that yesterday. She lost her 28 year old son to drug overdose last October. Just turned 25, My memories from teenage days seem so recent and are still fresh in my mind, my childhood memories don't seem to be too far either. But looking at myself now as a father of one I realise it's been a long journey and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
The worst part is feeling like you're the only one who hasn't moved on or grown up when you visit home and see how much has changed. So many people have moved away and you wonder why it feels like you're the only one who hasn't moved on emotionly wise.
This song hits so hard when you're about to graduate. I am graduating high school in just a few days and this song is so emotional for me. Just remembering the last 4 years of my life, and thinking about those good old days coming to an end. 2018 was a good year. I miss those days.
I'm 27. Lord knows I would give anything to go back to my teen years at least. Still have a lot of beloved memories. Sad that I can't relive the past, but blessed that I'm gonna be able to make new memories, tell new stories, and have new experiences. This song really put me at peace with that.

i believe that we can make every time to the time of our lifes! Im 19 now and cant believe how fast the time is running.. I think at the age of 14-17 i had the best time of my life so far... in this period of time we make so many experiences that we will never forget. Use this time to do what you really love to do. In a few years you will look back and want to go back. Being an adult, having a job, have money and going to clubs is not everything. Just have some great nights with your best friends, those nights youll never forget (sorry for being so melancholic but thats the song :D)
